RAIDED (A SONGSHEET BASED UPON THE ROLLING STONES GREAT SONG-POEM 'RUBY TUESDAY')

Raided (a Rewrite of Ruby Tuesday)

We walked thru red fields of leavened gold: by the time we kissed, our
hearts were cold. We walked through red fields of leavened skein: by the
time we kissed, our hearts were stained
So goodbye now, braided baby, I am
still in love with you: you & me were meant, my baby; ain't it true that
      love breaks thru.
We walked through the rills & hills of light: by the
time we kissed, our hearts weren't right: we walked meadows, moons &
garden bowers: by the time we kissed, our hearts weren't ours.
So goodbye now, braided baby, I am still in love with you:
you & me were meant, my
baby; ain't it true that love breaks thru.
      Time cannot accord what passion
maims: in the scent of thunder, time defames: ain't that just the cost,
blue love is merely loss, & when it comes to praying, loving rains: ain't
      that ashame?
So goodbye now, braided baby, I am still in love with you:
you & me were meant, my baby; ain't it true that love breaks thru.
Museday Murmur, bluesday kiss of sun; in love's scarlet number, truth succumbs:
love is always altared, its lust a baptised skein: museday murmur, bluesday
murder: the love we had was vain.
So goodbye now, braided baby, I am still
in love with you: you & me were meant, my lady; ain't it true that love
breaks thru: you & me were meant, my lady; ain't it true that love breaks
thru: in leavened fields, true love's our enemy; as time denies, all light
      disproves...
